PADI Specialties

Some examples include night diving or limited visibility, learning how to navigate with a compass, diving to 40m, drysuit diving, or different configurations such as sidemount. It’s all possible at Sea Spirit Diving Resort. Once the PADI Open Water Diver course is completed, there are plenty of specialties to learn! Most specialties can be done in a few days, with 2-4 open water dives included. Most specialties follow a similar set-up. Theory is completed with an (e)-manual containing knowledge reviews, and the rest is just diving! Find out what interests you.

• Deep Diver. 4 dives are included and gives you a certification to scuba dive at depths down to 40 meters. Minimum age is 15 years old and mininum certification is Adventure Diver. 
• Digital Underwater  Photography. 2 dives are included and we will teach you how to use an underwater camera to get great shots of your underwater scuba adventures and the underwater life. Minimum age is 10 years old and minimum certification is (junior) Open Water Diver. 
• Diver Propulsion Vehicle: 2 dives are included and after certification you will be able to dive with a DPV (an underwater scooter), a big advantage is is that you can see a lot of the divesite (and beyond) in a short amount of time. Minumum age is 12 years old and minimum certification is (junior) Open Water Diver.
  
• Dry Suit Diver. 1 confined water and 2 open water dives are included. A great certification if diving in colder water and staying warm and dry at the same time! Minimum  age is 10 years old and minimum certification is (junior) Open Water Diver. 
• Emergency Oxygen Provider. 1 half day of classroom is included. Knowing how and when to use emergency oxygen is a great skill to have, especially when something happens while diving and you are prepared to offer help. No age restrictions or required scuba certifications. 
• Enriched Air (Nitrox). 1 dive included at Sea Spirit! Scuba diving with enriched air gives you more time to explore the underwaterworld and you can jump back in the water faster! In other words, it gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive dives.  Minumum age is 12 years old and minimum certification is (junior) Open Water Diver. We can also integrate this specialty in the PADI Open Water Diver Course and PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course.
  
• Underwater Naturalist. 2 dives are included. This course will let you see new things underwater, even at familiar divesites. We will teach you all about  ecosystems, different species and underwater ecology. Your next dive will be totally different! Minimum age is 10 years old and minimum certification is (junior) Open Water Diver.
  
• Underwater Navigator. 3 dives are included and navigating with a compass underwater is one of the best skills you will learn in scuba diving. Knowing where to go and how to come back will make your dive more fun and exciting. We will teach you about compass headings and how to use the compass more accurate. Minimum age is 10 years old and minimum certification (junior) Open Water Diver. 
  
• Night diver. 3 dives are included. Diving in the dark will be one of your best diving experiences. During nighttime, the underwater wold changes as other creatures wake up. Enjoy diving with a torch and learning different communications techniques! Minimum age is  12 years old and minimum certification is (junior) Open Water Diver.
  
• Peak Performance Buoyancy. 2 dives are included. The best way to observe a fish is to become a fish! Learn to hover in different positions and practice several kicking techniques and breating methodes makes you more confident as a diver. Elevate your buoyancy skills to the next level! Minimum age is 10 years old and minimum certification is (junior) Open Water Diver. 
  
• Project Aware. Become familiar with the 10 Tips for Divers to Protect the Ocean Planet from the Project Aware movement. We will teach you how you can make a difference for ocean protection every time you dive or travel. We will teach you during any dive or course!
  
• Delayed Surface Marker Buoy. 2 dives are included. One of the best skills you will learn as a diver and will increase your safety under water and at the surface. We will teach you the proper techniques for using a (delayed) surface marker buoy, a perfect tool to use towards the end of your dive and safety stop. Minimum age is 10 years old and minimum certification is (junior) Open Water Diver. 
  
• Search & Recovery.  4 dives are included. An adventurous specialty where we will teach you how to use different searching patterns and using a liftbag to take objects from the bottom to the surface. This specialty will increase the success of finding lost subjects back under water! Minimum age is 12 years old and minimum certificaftion is (junior) advanced open water diver.
  
• Sidemount . 1 confined water dive and 3 open water dives are included. Looking for another way to mounting tanks for your dive? Now we have to possibility to mount tanks on our side instead of our back! Sidemount diving gives you flexibility and other streamlining options. Minimum age is 15 years old  and minimum certification is Open Water Diver.
  
• Wreck . 4 dives are included. This is the course for you if you want to explore wrecks under water. There are many interesting wrecks all over the world and this course teaches you how to plan your dive and dive around a wreck. Minimum age is 15 years old and minimum certification is Adventure Diver.
  

For PADI Instructors it is also possible to earn the PADI Specialty Instructor rating by completing a Specialty Instructor Course with PADI Course Director Carmelo Sgroi.
