The PADI Skill Circuit is one of the core development tools provided by PADI to develop your demonstrations skills as a PADI Divemaster and a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. This video shows you all the 24 skills in order with an useful summary description at the end of each skill.

What is the PADI Skill Circuit? 

In both the Divemaster Course and the Instructor Development Course, the candidate has to do a skill circuit with 24 skills. All PADI professionals should be able to demonstrate these skills (slowly). During your IDC you will build further on the training and knowlegde from the Divemaster Course.

The skill circuit contains 24 skills, which has to be done during the Divemaster course and during the IDC. 

As you can also see in the video, the 24 skills are the following:

1. Equipment assembly, adjustment, preparation, donning and disassembly.

2. Predive safety check (BWRAF)

3. Deep water entry

4. Buoyancy check at the surface

5. Snorkel to regulater exchange & regulator to snorkel exchange

6. Five point descent (SORTED)

7. Regulator recovery and clearing

8.  Mask removal, replacement and clearing

9.  Air depletion exercise and alternate air source use (stationary)

10. Alternate air source ascent

11. Free flowing regulator breathing

12. Neutral buoyancy, using both methods oral & low pressure inflation

13. Five point ascent

14. Controlled emergency swimming ascent (CESA)

15. Hover motionless for 30 seconds

16. Underwater swim without mask

17. Remove & replace weight system underwater

18. Remove & replace scuba unit underwater

19. Remove & replace scuba unit on the surface

20. Remove & replace weight system on the surface

21. Head-first surface dive, snorkel out of mouth

22. Disconnect low-pressure inflator

23. Re-secure a loose cylinder band

24. Perform an emergency weight drop
