Becoming a PADI IDC Staff Instructor is one of the most significant milestones in a dive professional’s career. This certification allows you not only to assist a PADI Course Director in instructor training but also to independently conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor course and play a key role in shaping the next generation of dive leaders.

At Sea Spirit Diving Resort in Taormina, you’ll have the unique opportunity to train alongside Carmelo Sgroi, PADI Platinum Course Director, who has been mentoring dive professionals with passion, experience, and expertise since 2010.

• Improve your coaching, evaluation, and mentoring skills
• Deepen your knowledge of PADI standards and educational system

Course Structure at Sea Spirit Diving Resort

The course is divided into two main phases:

1. IDC Staff Instructor Preparation Module
   • Targeted theory presentations
   • Exams on dive theory and PADI standards
   • Practical sessions including knowledge development presentations, confined and open water presentations
   • Teaching skills development workshops
2. Complete IDC Audit
   • Participate as part of the staff throughout the full Instructor Development Course (IDC) (14 days)
   • Observe and evaluate instructor candidate presentations
   • Coaching under the supervision of the Course Director

Approximate total duration: up to 14 days, depending on the IDC schedule.

Participation Requirements

You must:

• Be certified as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) in active teaching status
• Have issued at least 25 PADI certifications
• Hold a current EFR Instructor certification
